Gerard Cosmetics Review

I have been hearing a lot of talk about Gerard Cosmetics in the world of beauty. Many Youtubers have raved about this company. I have been on the Instagram account and of course fell in love with the pictures of the beauties wearing their lip products. Sooo I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. I purchased these lipsticks with my own money and I am not affiliated with Gerard Cosmetics. I am simply here to give my opinion on the product.

The package arrived in a simply black box with Gerard Cosmetics on the ends. Once opened the inside looked like what is pictured above.

They included a cute little message as well.

The products are covered with tissue paper and a cute GC sticker.

After you remove the sticker... viola... Your products are seen. I think the black and gold box is really cute. But what I like most....

I absolutely love the gold bullet like tubes. Yes, this shape is just like the MAC shape.... However, the color is what I really love.

1995, London Fog, Underground.

I purchased the above lipsticks as a sale pack for $20. The great thing about purchasing these lipsticks were not only the three for $20......... but I was also able to use a code in order to reduce my price. By using the code "GCSAVE" I was able to save $7 off my total price. Not to mention I received free shipping and handling. If you go on their Instagram account you will see that they almost always present us with a discount. I mean how can we say no to that...

Swatches :

Up close: Underground, 1995, London Fog (L to R)

Distant: Underground, 1995, London Fog

1. Underground... This lipstick has a Satin texture. First off, when I first applied this color the lipstick BROKE! That was very disappointing.(I will be emailing them about that). It is a light grey color that gives you a hint of pink in the swatch. On my lips it is more dusty/ashy nude. It is pretty light and I definitely have to apply it multiple times.  However, I think that a perfect liner would help to bring this color on my lips.

2. 1995.... This is the only Matte finish lipstick I ordered.  It is much more of an everyday color than the other 2 that I purchased. As I read about this lippie, I saw that it was inspired by the nude lips of the 90s. It shows up on my lips although I definitely do have to apply more than one coat if I want the true color to be seen. I would prefer it to go on a tad bit darker. As you can tell in the swatch above, it has a redish color to it but it still gives me a color that I could wear daily. 1995 is a matte; however, the length of time that I had it on (it was the last lipstick I put on and I kept it on while writing this post) it gave a matte look but a creamy feel and my lips did not feel dried out.

3. London Fog.... This lipstick also has a Satin texture. It is a cool dark grey color. As stated with the other 2, I had to apply this lipstick more than once to try and receive the full color. Once applied a few times the color is pretty. In my opinion it is a grey color with hmmm.. maybe a  hint of light purplish undertone.

Overall...
I don't think these lipsticks are really worth  $19.00 compared to Mac lipstick which is $17. However, I guess when you keep in mind that a discount can be used when purchasing these lipsticks....it really isn't all that bad (plus free shipping). I already stated how much I love the gold bullet packaging look. On the downside to that, I will say that the tube is very light weight and it does feel a little cheap. I received my lipsticks today; therefore, sad to say I cannot comment on how they last and feel throughout the day. I am ready to put on clothes and play around with these lipsticks to see if I can really enjoy them. I hate to say that I think they are overhyped when I haven't tried them on during a full day. So I won't comment either way.

Would I purchase anymore lip products from Gerard Cosmetics.... I love lipsticks so I'm not going to lie. Yes I would. Although, the lipsticks that I purchased didn't really give me the looks I expected... that is kind of to be expected sometimes. I didn't fall in love with either of the three colors I purchased. I saw many other colors in their lipsticks and liquid lipsticks that I would love to try out (especially some of their purple tones).

Have you tried any of their products? If so what do you think of them? What are your favorite lip colors? Let me know in the commnts below..
